ForeverShrimp
Hey, I was wondering if I could get some advice on a good tank size for starting out. I'll probably be keeping RCS as I have an aquatics store nearby that sells them. Thanks!!

maylee
Just wanted to clarify, I think James is referring to 20 gallon long and not 20 liters. I might be wrong though JamesHe and Shrimpie
Shrimpie
I started with a 5 gal, then 7 gal, then 10 gal. Now I have 22 gal - Wish I had done the 22 gal first. Rodan76
Shrimp Life
I think a ten gallon is a good starting point for Cherry Shrimp. JamesHe
Lyana
I think 10 gallon, but be warned you will soon want a bigger tank, and more tanks!

DETAquarium
All of my aquariums are 17.1g Mr. Aqua aquariums. Ultimately depends on if you are on a budget and if you want a rimless or an aquarium with a rim. Rimless: Above Tank With Rim: 20g Long

35ppt
What is your experience with aquaria? Can you keep a tank stable?
Citycode01
Can you get those in the uk and if so where from? If you good with DIY then buy on eBay aquarium silicon and order in your glazing shop 6mm glass with nice polished edges and make the tank yourself. Some YouTube videos can help. I made all my tanks this way and good thing they all fit perfectly in my available space.
DETAquarium
Can you get those in the uk and if so where from? Good Question! I am not sure if Mr. Aqua has made it to distribution in Europe. If not I know ADA has the DO Aqua! brand there, and they have a comparable aquarium. gillznglass
I saw a 180 gallon tank at Sandy's pet shop in Louisville Kentucky today I think would make a perfect starter tank. Perhaps in place of say a large couch. What a beautiful site. Imagine that full of Cardinals. Rodan76
Soothing Shrimp
Larger tanks make the water params more stable. However some people are super on top of things and do very small tanks. All depends on your personality really. gillznglass
gillznglass
Spot on Bryce. 20 L is a good balance for water quality and size, as it will fit in most places. The increased water surface area is what makes it better than say a 20 high.
Rodan76
i would suggest 10 Gal. because of its size... and you will eventually (sooner than later) have multiple tanks. it is inevitable so then 2 or 3 or 6 or 10 10 gals...haha.
