JamesHe
Looks like we're going to have the 1st International Shrimp Competition in the US aiming for November 2016!!! Start selectively breeding your finest, folks! shrimp competition.jpg Or buy competition grade to cut the corners. haha EricM and Jaykidding
jimko
Nope. They have them set up already. You provide the shrimp. Usually through mail. Do they send the shrimp back after the competition is over?
Soothing Shrimp
Going off fish shows, they auction the aquapets off after the show and the club gets the proceeds to help offset cost and if any is left over- as seed money for the next one. I haven't seen any discussion regarding this yet for this shrimp competition.
35ppt
Makes sense, but then you're losing your breeding stock, right?
Soothing Shrimp
I wouldn't suggest anyone send their breeding stock.
DETAquarium
Anymore updates on this? Anyone for sure going as of right now? I am really considering at the very least going, if not entering the contest. h4n and mjb1959

EricM
What if you can't go to that competition? Can you ship your shrimp in or something lol Yes. Thats pretty common. based off talking to judges from the 2015 Taiwan competition and previous shows, here is some guidlines of judging. based on 100% scoring: 20% body shape/posture 35% main color 15% secondary color 20% similarity of group - most competitions require 3-5 shrimp per group entered. 10% color of pereiopods (legs) remember each judge has different tastes in quality and traits they look for. for example, a show winning PRL (usually a PRL is the grand champion) 1. deep crimson red color 2 bright shining white 3. thick armor shell 4. even coloration, full colored legs (hard to achieve) 5. large size (above 2.5-3.0cm) 6. balanced head and body proportions. Wygglz
I don't see a "tiger" class. Am I missing something? Soothing Shrimp
Shrimple minded
Could one infer from the IOSC grading chart that there are currently four types of pintos (Zebra, Spotted, Fishbone, Tiger)? Or just four that are "stable" enough to be graded/judged?
Jaykidding
Ok thanks!
EricM
I don't see a "tiger" class. Am I missing something? There are 2 "tiger" classes. Red / Black TigerbeeQ - Red / Black Tigerbee Golden Eye Species (typically things like OEBT/etc)R - Golden Eyes Could one infer from the IOSC grading chart that there are currently four types of pintos (Zebra, Spotted, Fishbone, Tiger)? Or just four that are "stable" enough to be graded/judged? the 4 main patterns seems to cover all the variations. is there something you feel doesnt fit into one of those categories? Wygglz
I thought the tiger/bee meant a cross. Just being an airhead! I don't think I'll ever have the courage to compete, but I was thinking about my red striped TT, and other selective breeding options on the different tigers. Thank you for clarifying for me! Soothing Shrimp
I thought that was meant to be a cross in competition, too. (TiB) Wygglz
