gcorona301
Im going to start breeding fire painted cherry shrimp and I need help on whether using RO water or my tap water(of course with de chlorinated). What is the difference?
Soothing Shrimp
Honestly depends on your tap. Some people have magic water, others like myself weren't successful until remin+ ro.

Soothing Shrimp
With tap, no minerals need added. With ro, minerals always need added for gh, tds, and more. I personally use gh+ powder, but I have lots of tanks. I'm thinking of switching to a liquid at a later time.

Soothing Shrimp
I'm a hobby breeder. The best way to keep my shrimp looking good is through genetics and good nutrition. I'm a fan of omniapro, ae, snowflake, and some others. Basically, offer a variety of foods with one main one, and they'll do fine. That, and cull to obtain the best genes. You don't have to, of course. Some people are just happy with a colony. Fishprinceofca and Wygglz

Lyana
I can't use my tap water either. It has a ph of 8.4 for some weird reason
DETAquarium
As Soothing as said, its dependent on your tap water, just test the water and share the results. I would say save yourself some trouble and go with RODI water if possible.
