Jaykidding
I accidenlty put too big of a snowflake in and now I have a puddle of Detrius worms. Is there a way to get rid of them naturally and will they harm baby shrimp? Thank you!
svetilda
When I just started shrimping I had the worms. I made a very small syphon from a hard drinking straw, air tube and a jar with a lid and syphoned my subsrate. I don't have them any more but I still syphon all of my tanks. But now I use a turkey baster and let the dirty water stay a couple of days and look for shrimplets in there. It's easy to use white bowl for this (or transparent and put it on something white). And I think the worms are harmless but not pretty to look at. Louie and Soothing Shrimp

svetilda
Also I forgot to say that even you can leave snowflake in a tank I always take leftovers out after a few days. I do it only because I don't like them laying on the floor.
OMG Aquatics
Feed less. Population of these worms is based on food provided. Louie and Soothing Shrimp
Soothing Shrimp
An over population of detritus worms and nematodes will die out naturally over time with smaller feedings. Wygglz and Louie
PlantDude
I also recommend using shrimp bowls, or something where you put the food instead of dropping it directly on the substrate. They making cleaning up very easy and isolating food leftovers.
