Vpier
Interesting. Didn't figure a goyls tail would come back since they are related to Cresties. That's cool! The hatchling I got came without a tail. I can't complain about it though since my cat has a stub tail haha. They must be related. Just sitting there still, looking at me, judging me with their stubby tails. -Duffy It so common with cresties losing tails its never a negative to quality and price, Soothing Shrimp
Soothing Shrimp
Yep. Cresties are appreciated for their color on the body.
Soothing Shrimp
So I got the large All Access Organizer in yesterday. Bigger than what I thought. It should hold 3-5 goyles easily. It is very roughly 15" tall, 20" wide, and 17" deep. I say roughly because it tapers a little from the top to the bottom. Here's the link for the "cage" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BEUDXHW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00 --- Today I used a soldering iron to cut two holes in the back and put in 2 black aluminum louvers. On the back they have tabs which you can bend back over the hole to hold them in place. It worked well, but if you have a 2" hole saw it would work much faster. I don't, so had to use what I had on hand. http://www.ventmyhouse.com/products/2%22-Round-Black-Aluminum-Louver-with-Insect-Screen-and-4-Aluminum-Tabs--%28Priced-Per-Bag-of-6%29.--Item%23--2%22-RBLT%252d100.html The front window slides up and then you can drop it forward. To replace it, you put it up and slide it down again. I don't need the geckos pushing up on the lightweight window and accidentally having it open, so I used a window screen clip with a wide thumbhold to secure it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FMYPEGY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 To "unlock" twist to the side. To "lock," just twist it down. I chose white so I could see the lock easily. Duff0712

Louie
Thanks. If everything works out okay, I should have Angel here Wed. They don't require insects at all ? Breeding mealworms in a container in closet is easy enough as extra protein .
Soothing Shrimp
They can have them, but not needed. Not to say I probably won't try my hand at mealworms too in the future. Vpier and Louie

Vpier
Good to know. Thank you. I was just messing with you a little bit If there was a manufactured food for leo's I would have used it instead of raising mealworms. If i ever get back into gecko's I would go the route you are taking or crested gecko. Soothing Shrimp and Louie

Louie
They can have them, but not needed. Not to say I probably won't try my hand at mealworms too in the future. I go through about 150 mealworms a week only in feeding gekos and green anoles . I do it because sometimes I get unusual geckos and anoles so its interesting though this is common customer . I use one 16 by 10 topperware tub and I leave some beetles in which you are not supposed to as they do eat baby mealworms but over years I've become sloppy at it and it is the easiest thing in the world . I throw in a carrot or slice of yam once a week and that's it . A small container in a closet and you'll get lots mealworms for your gecko if you opt ever add mealworms . fishface
I had mealworms for my green anoles many, many years ago (50? ). Fishing around in the bag of bran one day I felt something hard and lumpy. Pulled it out, dessicated mouse corpse!! Soothing Shrimp
She came in and is cute! She is more beige than granite though, so thinking a Slitheen? Any Whovian fan suggestions?
heatherbee
Neat! That container is really smart! My first reptile was a Marbled Gecko The eyes on them look golden & the body pattern is somewhat similar to the gargoyles. I diy'd the cage to save money and carefully sanded off the bark off of the wood because I didn't want it to be rough. I was 14 lol. Lead me to veiled chameleons a couple years after. I don't have any lizards currently but have a mini zoo nonetheless! I also breed meal worms and it is the easiest live food I've ever done! Soothing Shrimp
Doctor Who had a wild companion called Leela, so my goyle is now officially Leela. As you can see, Leela is changing her clothes, but not shy at all. She's super relaxed and loves to lay in the hand-ock. heh sarah, Vpier, Duff0712 and 1 other
sarah
Wow those eyes look unreal! BTW, I am not so into reptiles/birds, but I am totally in love with gecko feet. Have you ever seen a photo taken under a microscope? So awesome. Soothing Shrimp
Soothing Shrimp
Her eyes are awesome, and her temperament is sweet. heh I know what you mean about gecko feet. Scientists have worked to re-create that type of application instead of velcro for years. Finally not too long ago they had a breakthrough, and have been using it for all kinds of insane things. Mostly Military. ShrimpP
Allen Repashy makes Repashy gel foods for fish, inverts and reptiles. He is pretty big in the reptile community. He sounds like a decent guy and from the looks of it, reptiles love his foods (he's had reptiles that would never touch commercial food, actually eat his food). The gels can be baked into jerky as well. I am sure he is a wealth of information if you had any questions on reptile species.
