seaj
I was considering putting the chocolates with my carbon rilis because I'm trying to consolidate my shrimp into as few tanks as possible. I'm moving soon, so I was hoping to find compatible strains/species, though I find these two particular strains interesting enough to have their own dedicated tanks. The new place doesn't allow pets, but I think I want to sneak in a tank or two.
ohmiko
Hey it's highly possible that's true LOL I bought my blue velvet from a tank that had so many different colors including blue dream and blue diamond so I had to basically self label it since there were no names Neon Tetra Aquarist and Mr. F

Then maybe build a 2 or 3 way divided 10 or 20g so you can have many species! Wygglz and seaj

I'll see what they look like once they settle in. I will probably mix all of my Taiwan bees, mischlings, aura tibees, and snow whites/golden bees and my carbon rilis. I may keep another neo strain in a breeder box. I'll have to find homes for everyone else.
Neon Tetra Aquarist
Okay guys im new to this genetics thing but I have a question about breeding: Which of the blue neo strains seems to breed the most true? I dont mind culling, but I dont want to pay $50 for blue shrimp that breed red. THANKS in advance! BTW which ones should I get guys of the three links below (I know its my own opinion but I would just like to know): https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Rili-Shrimp-Neocaridina-davidi/dp/B01DFQYNIU/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471636905&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=10+blue+rili+shimp http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-extras-Blue-Pearl-Neocaridina-Shrimp-/291846555849?hash=item43f36908c9:g:Hw4AAOSwawpXsXxQ https://www.amazon.com/Live-Velvet-Shrimp-Neocaridina-davidi/dp/B017PEL8P4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471636323&sr=8-1&keywords=10+live+sky+blue+velvet+shrimp

I just bought 50 of em and I had a light blue dream apparently and all the babies were light blue/ rili patterned already which is so fun since there's so many patterns Neon Tetra Aquarist

Saltwater-in-my-veins
I'd love to see some updates if anyone has any new info since you posted your comments! I've just gotten into keeping neos, sold as skittles on Amazon, and am having great fun watching them, and learning more about all of the different varieties! Those blue green Nessies were beautiful! Did you ever have any luck stabilizing the line? Anyone else here make any new discoveries? Shrimp-fixated minds want to know! 😉
OblongShrimp
Currently the blue dreams are the darkest of the blue neos and breed really well and pretty true. I don’t really see blue diamonds around anymore. They looked about like the blue dreams but threw chocolate and Bloody Mary culls.
