35ppt
I am planning to switch to RO, but that got me thinking about tap water. Is there any drawback to using carbon filtered tap water? i.e. I have a GAC filter on my drinking water. Assuming the GH , pH , KH of your tap are good. It is not as effective at contaminant removal as RO, of course. But it might be good enough in some cases.
Soothing Shrimp
You mean like a pitcher filter? We've done cost studies here for pitcher filtered vs RO and found that pitcher cartridges are much more expensive. Other than that, no drawback. 35ppt
I have an under sink sediment/GAC, which I think is probably better at filtration than a pitcher Yes, cost is a factor Soothing Shrimp
