willdog
Hi, I've been lurking around for a while now and I finally decided to join. I've never really kept shrimp but I did have a saltwater tank for a while and I had a cleaner shrimp I was wondering what I need to do to get started in the hobby I still have my 28 gallon tank but that's about it? I am particularly interested in breeding. Edited October 4, 2016 by willdog forgot to add something
ohmiko
Welcome! 28 G is a great size The bigger the more stable the water parameters are. Are you interested in Neocaridina, or Caridina? Neos are more prolific and Caridinas need more attention, but when breeding happens, it is soooo successful! Also Caridinas can mix and vary patterns while neos that mix different colors will revert to Wild type colors (with some exceptions!) Soothing Shrimp
Welcome! It really depends what you find interesting. Some are more challenging than others. Is there a certain kind that strikes your fancy?

Mr. F
I'm really interested in tibees Mischlings are the most forgiving caridina and best for beginners IMO, but tigers and tibees are next.
Soothing Shrimp
You'll need a soil to lower ph and keep it stable, a filter (most of us use sponge), some plants or moss, RO and remineralizer, shrimp food, and a light. Of course, you also need shrimp. ;-) Mr. F
