willdog
I don't know if this is in the right place but I have a few beginner questions about equipment for breeding Cardinia species. 1. How many tanks do I need (I have a 28 gallon tall and a 3ish gallon right now) but I would definitely look into more if it would help? 2. Do I need a breeder box? P.s I have limited space
Soothing Shrimp
If you are not worried about selective breeding, you can just use one tank and they'll breed fine.
willdog
Sorry I forgot to mention that selective breeding was my intention
Shrimp Home
If you don't have much tank, breeder box is a good choice
Mr. F
You could try splitting the 28 into 2 or 3 sections. jessaweeshrimp
Soothing Shrimp
Another slower, simple way- is by colony breeding. 1 tank, every hundred shrimp or so cull down to 10, repeat. revolutionhope
willdog
I think I'm going to split my tank into three sections Mr. F
Mr. F
I think I'm going to split my tank into three sectionsYou're gonna need 3x the sponge filters. If you keep the tanks separate, you'll also need 3x the heaters. If you connect them then you don't have to worry so much. I recently saw a thread about splitting tanks and a member on here (Plamski) had some great advice. Here's the thread:http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/topic/6889-Shrimp-Room-Rack-SetupsAlso another member used HMFs to split the tanks but keep the water common, which I thought was a really cool:http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/topic/5601-splitting-my-20long-with-hmf/
