I added about 20 RCSbut they are dying daily, and the ones that are alive arent moving.So I tested my water and it is as below:ammonia- 0nitrite - 0nitrate - 7~8PH- 7.0KH - 2 DROP THEN TURNED WHITE/SLIGHTLY YELLOWGH - 4 DROP THEN TURNED VERY SLIGHT GREEN. I think the KH and GH is the problem. Not sure. 1st time testing for gh and kh. Will these water parameters be better for crystal red shrimps?? MY SHRIMPS DYING!Parameters you gave should work fine for Red cherry Shrimp - Neocardinia Shipping stress is my first suspicion. Did you contact the seller for advice? Toxin or pathogen in the tank? Mr. F Posted October 15, 2016 Report Share Posted October 15, 2016 Although I agree it's recommended to keep the GH a touch higher, I've had blue dreams, PFR, and snowballs reproduce in GH 4, 5, and 6. Never had any die offs from molting issue. Unless your shrimp die trying to molt or you find them dead near a molt, it probably isn't a hardness issue. This can be hard to diagnose because sometimes you never see them molt or they sometimes can't even get to the point of starting to molt before dying. It can also be an issue of missing dietary minerals. I'd imagine it was a shipping issue or bad quarantining from the shipper. Are they from an LFS/imported? I got 2 crystal reds to try them out and they seem to be doing well the past 2 days. they are grazing way more than the rcs.. I tested for tds. It is at 150ppm. They tend to die off one by one - this is my personal experience with imported shrimp and many others can likely share the same experiences.
