Subtletanks91
I've been thinking of ways to rid Mt tank of spirogyra algae. And I came across this. Pure organic no copper doesn't harm plants. http://www.weissorganics.com/algaemagic.html
Soothing Shrimp
Sounds good. I don't know if it is propaganda or real facts though. You going to buy a bottle and report your results?
Subtletanks91
I don't know if I'm willing to risk all the stock I have to try it. Lol too much money and time invested in it.
Puddles
I'm skeptical -- its info reads like a magic panacea. And it's main selling point is that it oxygenates the water -- so does an airline, but that doesn't stop algae.
Subtletanks91
Unless it works like peroxide?
metageologist
I would request the MSDS for this assuming it has one. It should give you an idea regarding its toxicity based on its precautions.
Shaun
If it kills algae without harming coral it should be safe for shrimp why not use some in a tank containing a shrimp that you would have culled and that has some hair algae in it? Small 1g or something.
Soothing Shrimp
I think it may have to do with h202 as well. Try with some culls and hair algae if you'd like. Them's nothin' to lose.
