kcoscia
I just had a thought. Would the river rocks I bought at dollar tree kill my shrimp? Here is a link to them. They state they are "polished"
Soothing Shrimp
Polished usually means run through a tumbler to be smooth and shiny. Do a vinegar test, and if no fiz, you should be fine.
wicca32
they are fine. i would run them under super hot water for a few min to be on the safe side though. toss in a strainer and just turn the faucet on or boil some water and pour over them. i use them in most of my tanks be if fish or shirmp most of the time stones are pollished in a tumbler with little rubber pellets

Subtletanks91
Be careful though some polished rocks actually use a type of clear coating to being out the luater in them.
kcoscia
Assuming you mean luster, they are actually shiny so I think they aren't coated
