thebuddha
Hi everyone, I just joined last night. Found this site through a post/link over at TPT. Figured a site dedicated to shrimp would have more thoughtful, in-depth conversations. I came here to learn after all!A little about myself: I am a 22 year old recent graduate. Started up a fish tank my sophomore year of college, and because I wanted to keep german blue rams, I got into keeping a planted tank. Then I learned about shrimp, and eventually bought some Amanos for my community tank. The little guys are really cool and convinced me to switch over to a shrimp only tank! So I have a 29 gallon jungle of a tank that has Amanos, Malawa, and RCS in it. I also have a nano tank that I will eventually shrimp out when I find some good priced cool looking neos to breed. (will probably go with a blue type maybe carbons.) I joined this site mainly to learn about caridinas since I dont know much about them. I also am interested in learning about genetics and hybrids. I look forward to making some friends on here! PS. I dont know why its turning my pictures sideways.... Louie

thebuddha
Very nice tank , Love the plants. What type substrate, lights ? Take it no C02? Its a simple and fun low light tank that has been my teacher in the planted tank hobby. its lit by a sattelite plus led and the substrate is just sand. only other equipment is my ehiem 2217 thats way overkill now that theres only ~40 adult shrimp in there Thanks all for the comments and warm welcome! Louie
Oh the sattelite plus led's are supposed to be very good . I was looking at them in Amazon . Sand as substrate has never worked out for me but for you its works very well. The plants just didn't take with sane and seemed to have problems " rooting ".
