jasona9506
Hello everyone. Just started a little 2.5 gallon tank in my daughter's room. For whisker shrimp. Now One is prego. Do I take her out. She is with 3 others. 4 total
Soothing Shrimp
Your daughter? Nah. Just leave her in the room, too. *ducks and runs*
OblongShrimp
I moved this topic to the appropriate section. I am not sure what kind of shrimp a whisker shrimp is, are they a low order breeder (do young require brackish water). Either way the female is fine to stay in the tank. jasona9506
Lol.yes my daughter can stay in the room. The tag at the store called them 2 inch whisker shrimp. I'm not sure if they require a certain type of water or not. But good she can stay in the tank. Will the other shrimp destroy or eat her eggs
Soothing Shrimp
Oblong may be right, but I personally wouldn't be so sure. Indian shrimp are macros and eat meat as well as plants. I think the safe bet may be to remove the fem and place her in a holding tank with the same water params so she doesn't molt. Or a safer route is to remove the others to another holding container. Soothing Shrimp
If the eggs are small and in rows, that usually refers to larvae low order.
jasona9506
The eggs are small and green. Under belly. She won't let them go. I'm afraid to move her to another tank because the one she is in 2.5gal. Is small. And would require to make another tank with new water. I just started another 10 gal. Been runn I n about a week and have 3 serpae tetras in there. Could I put the 3 others in the new tank and keep the prego in her tank
Jayr_Tigley
Alpha male whisker shrimps are actually nice to their females especially when berried
jasona9506
Oh ya and my daughter's hood ass goldfish we won at the carnival like 3 months ago. He is in the 10gal with the tetras. I kno goldfish are dirty ones. Thought I'd put him in to get a ecosystem started fast in the tank.
